Support from Eksper Gıda for the 11th Capadoccia Food Festival
Local dishes competed with one another in the 11th Capadoccia Food Festival.
The Capadoccia Food Festival was held on October 6, 2012 in Göreme, one of Cappadocia’s most important tourist centers, through the cooperation of the Nevşehir University, the City of Göreme Municipality, Chef’s Federation of Turkey, the Capadoccia Vocational School and the Capadoccia Chefs Association. A competition was organized using Eksper Gıda products within the scope of the festival. TAFED (Chef’s Federation of Turkey) members who came to Nevşehir from a variety of places in Turkey, Chef’s Federation of Turkey Board of Directors Chairman Zeki Açıköz, Yıldız Holding Group Assistant Chairman Murat Alıcılar and Eksper Gıda administrators were provided with the opportunity to evaluate the work they had created through this cooperation.
The 28th International Mengen Cuisine and Tourism Festival Took Place

The 28th International Mengen Cuisine and Tourism Festival, which was organized this year, was attended by Bolu Governor İbrahim Özçimen, Bolu Parliamentarian Ali Ercoşkun, Mengen Mayor Osman Erarslan, Abant İzzet Baysal University Rector Prof. Dr. Hayri Coşkun, Mengen District Governor Hayri Zorlu, Dörtdivan District Governor Nursan Zorlu, Gökçesu Mayor Vahit Aydın, Pazarköy Mayor Ramazan Albaş, Chef’s Federation of Turkey Chairman Zeki Açıköz, Mengen Chef’s Association Chairman Salih Bozkurt, representatives of various local political party presidents, superiors from the district and neighboring districts, chefs from various places throughout Turkey and a great number of citizens. The festival started on June 30 at the statue of a chef in the entry of the city terminal and continued with a parade from this location to the festival venue accompanied by the protocol and the Bolu Municipality Band. At the festival grounds a five thousand person serving of Mengen Rice was served followed by a Traditional Dishes Competition for Ladies and a Young Chefs competition. In the Traditional Dishes Competition for Ladies, Filiz Çelik took first place with her “kaldırık dolma”. Second place went to Ayşegül Demirkan for her pastry with ground beef and Melike Ezer took third place with her noodle dish. The awards for the Young Chefs competition, which took place next, were presented by the Afyonkarahisar Professional Chefs Association, the South Aegean Chefs Association and the Istanbul Professional Chefs Association.
The activities on the first evening of the festival started with the performance of the Mengen traditional folk dancers continued with the Bulgarian Yonbol Folklore group, Macedonian singer Süleyman Saidov, Illusionist Magic Aydın, Ebru Polat and Ramazan Çelik. The evening which attracted a lot of attention from visitors concluded with a fireworks display.
The day of commemoration which is celebrated traditionally in the Babahızır Village was also included in this year’s festivities. Mayor Osman Erarslan and Mengen District Governor Hayri Zorlu participated in the commemoration day. The performances organized by Ankara Off-Road racer Salih Akpınar, a Mengen local, were concluded within the festivities at the Akbük River of Mengen Babahızır Village.
The 7 Flavors in 7 Regions Competition took place in Afyon.
In Afyon, one of the most important locations for thermal tourism, a young chef competition was organized through the cooperation of Eksper Gıda and the Chef’s Federation of Turkey. The “1st National Afyonkarahisar Food Competition” organized by the Afyon Professional Chef’s Association was held at the Afyonkarahisar Commercial Exchange headquarters building on November 10, 2012. 100 university and college students who came from all over Turkey to Afyon competed in eight different categories with the slogan “7 Regions 7 Flavors”.

The Chef 8 Gourmet Night and Gala for Chefs was held
THE CHEF 8 GOURMET NIGHT AND GALA FOR CHEFS ORGANIZED BY TAFED WAS HELD İN ANKARA.
The Chef 8 Gourmet Night and Gala for Chefs, which has been organized by the Chef’s Federation of Turkey, TAFED, for seven years, was held on June 24, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Center Ankara. CHEF 8, an event in which 8 teams formed by Turkey’s highest quality chefs who prepare 8 different dishes with delicious flavor and unique presentation from 8 different regions which are served to 8 guests sitting at 8 different tables, was participated in by many of Turkey’s prominent politicians, bureaucrats and representatives of the press and gourmet sectors. The Chef 8 Gourmet Night and Gala for Chefs has also expanded it scope of social responsibility to include providing services to orphans, teachers who have devoted their lives to teaching people and the elderly in addition to its cooperation with the Ankara Autism Foundation.
TAFED Chairman Zeki Açıköz and BASATDER Chairman Reşat Erdemir said, with regard to the CHEF 8 event which has become a traditional organization, that they were pleased as professionals of the chef profession to be a part of an organization that revitalized flavors from the Turkish and Ottoman cuisines which would otherwise be forgotten, to get together to present the kitchen culture of different regions and have the opportunity to exchange ideas.
During this special night of sampling which took place within the scope of the Ankara Shopping Festival this year, Greater City of Ankara Municipality Melih Gökçek was also in attendance.
